Everything in nature invites us constantly to be what we are. We are often like rivers: careless and forceful, timid and dangerous, lucid and muddied, eddying, gleaming, still. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin’ is a simple yet profound statement. It comes from the Lakota Nation and means ‘all my relations.’ It is spoken during prayer and ceremony to invite and acknowledge all relatives to the moment.

(Show Notes) Self-efficacy is your belief in your ability to perform the actions needed to achieve your goals. Self-efficacy can be domain-specific; for example, someone might believe that they can successfully perform academic tasks, but not social ones. Self-efficacy is about subjective perception of ability, so it can reflect an underestimation or overestimation of peoples true abilities.
Self-efficacy can be influenced by many factors beyond pure ability, like harsh criticism or encouraging praise that someone received from others.
To increase self-efficacy, you can reflect on past successes by yourself and others, imagine yourself succeeding, figure out how youll handle potential obstacles, set realistic standards for yourself, and achieve a few easy initial wins.
