Drawing Near to Christ: The Key to Spiritual Victory

As believers, we struggle daily between the old nature (the flesh) and the new nature (the Spirit of Christ). The Christian life is a battle against three enemies: the flesh, the world, and the devil. Paul himself acknowledged this struggle in Romans 7:18-25, where he described the war within—desiring to do good yet battling sin.

The Importance of Confession and Nearness to Christ

Sin blocks our fellowship with God (Psalm 66:18).
Confession restores our nearness to Him (1 John 1:9).
To live victoriously, we must feed the spiritual man, not the flesh.
How to Draw Near to Christ:

Willingness – The first step is saying "Yes, Lord!"
Knowing God Deeply – The more we know Him, the more we love Him (Ephesians 1:18-19).
Renewing the Mind – Transformation happens through a renewed mind (Romans 12:2).
Examining Ourselves Daily – A spiritual "check-up" keeps us close to Him (2 Corinthians 13:5).
Overcoming Double-Mindedness – A divided heart leads to instability (James 1:8).
Spiritual Victory and the Joy of His Presence
When we draw near to Jesus, we experience joy, peace, and strength. We must hunger for righteousness, mourn over sin, and cultivate humility (Matthew 5:3-8).

Are you willing to step closer to Christ today? Don’t live a defeated Christian life—choose spiritual intimacy with Jesus.
